Since Resident Evil 4 is regarded as one of the best video games of all time, it was assumed that when Capcom remade Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, they were also preparing to remake RE4. Fans were obviously ecstatic when the announcement trailer finally debuted in June 2017 along with a release date.

The anticipation for this game grows with each new sneak-peak Capcom provides; it is incredibly beautiful and they have upgraded the gameplay for the current console generation without losing the action-hero feelings of the original. On March 23, Leon S. Kennedy and his recognizable leather jacket will be accessible on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

HORIZON FORBIDDEN WEST: BURNING SHORES

If Guerrilla’s past performance is any indication, Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will be a captivating sequel to what was previously an amazing game. The Frozen Wilds was a stunning follow-up to the 2017 breakthrough success Horizon Zero Dawn. We only know one thing regarding the DLC: Aloy is going to Hollywood! Aloy is seen flying over a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles in the teaser, complete with streaming lava. He’s also seen with what appears to be an extremely enraged Horus machine ready to cause trouble. On April 19 on PlayStation 5, the ongoing mission to once again save the world will begin.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM

This year will see the release of a sequel for yet another legendary franchise. The eagerly awaited follow-up to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which won Game of the Year in 2017, has been in development for some time, but Nintendo has been strangely quiet about any developments.

Nintendo released the game’s title and the release date formally at the Nintendo Direct in September of last year. Much to the excitement of fans, who had previously seen a brief teaser trailer at E3 in 2021. Although The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom looks equally as stunning as its predecessor, nothing is known about Link’s latest journey. Its debut on May 12 will likely mark Nintendo’s largest drop of the year.

SUICIDE SQUAD: KILL THE JUSTICE LEAGUE

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was initially slated to release last year, but the announcement trailer debuted at DC Fandome in 2021. Since then, Rocksteady has announced a new release date for the game: May 26. The narrative is set after Arkham Knight in the same universe as the Arkham video games. Kevin Conroy will make his final appearance as Batman in Kill the Justice League. Unfortunately, the renowned actor passed away not too long ago.

MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN 2

A big reason why 2018 was such a great year for video games is Marvel’s Spider-Man. It makes sense that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the expansion that debuted in 2020, would have fans all over the world psyched for the upcoming sequel. The unexpected teaser, which debuted in September 2021, included Kraven the Hunter as a voiceover and portrayed Peter and Miles battling alongside each other.

The two-second peek of Venom, one of Marvel’s most well-liked and well-known characters, was undoubtedly the most intriguing element of the video. While Sony has announced that the game will launch as a PS5 exclusive at some point in the future, not much else is known about the sequel.

LIES OF P – The first or one of the biggest upcoming games in 2023

If From Software had consulted Guillermo del Toro when creating a game instead of George R. R. Martin, Lies of P is something that would happen. It is one of the more thrilling teasers to debut at the Game Awards along with gameplay footage. This game has great graphic direction, wonderful settings, and a plot that seems to be just as mysterious and fascinating as you would expect from a Soulsborne game.

It appears that gamers will be in control of Pinocchio as he travels through a dangerous metropolis searching for Mr. Geppetto, presumably on a mission to become human. There is no set release date for Lies of P, but it will be available on PS5, Xbox, and Steam.

One of the most significant bits of information around this VR remastering of Resident Evil 4 is that it is the first confirmed Quest 2 exclusive release. Even locking out its predecessor headset – which it has shared releases with since launching in October 2020.

Capcom isn’t building this particular project. Instead, Capcom sought the help of Oculus Studios and Armature Studios. Armature Studios is primarily support-focused. They also create original works like Factory Fail and Sports Scrabble.

Changes to this release of Resident Evil 4

The original creator confirmed that the release will have original cutscenes. However, they have made some key changes. The first and most noticeable change is the VR ported version of Resident Evil 4’s gameplay is experienced through a first-person viewing perspective. This point of view makes a lot of sense. Because this VR version allows players to dual-wield.

Another key change to the classic’s gameplay is that players will now have all the joys of interacting with the in-game environment. That brings the game closer to the levels of environmental interaction that VR players are getting accustomed to. Even though the original Resident Evil 4’s equipment menu is still available, players will be able to select weapons right off of their bodies. That is a key benefit of the added in-game interactivity.

Gameplay details

When it comes to moving around, players can use Quest 2’s analog sticks or teleportation. The latter being a recommended option for players who are prone to VR motion sickness.

As for the technicals of the Resident Evil 4 VR remake, Armature remastered the game on Unreal Engine 4. All that while keeping the character animations unchanged. The company parades how they enhanced roughly 4500 textures for a crispier first-person view.

The game is a clear-cut classic, but whether or not Resident Evil 4 is a good reason to switch to Quest 2 – for those who don’t own one – is a question that still needs to be answered. The only way to do that is to wait for the release and then give it a go.

This is a short memento to a few of those unsung heroes that made our gaming experiences that much more of a ball.

Teddy “TK” Baha From Borderlands

A blind, one legged, weapons inventor who found himself living on the rather hostile planet that is Pandora after he and his wife Marian became victims of harassment and intimidation from a company known as the Hyperion Corporation, which pinched some weapon designs from him.

Baha is a loner who provides missions early on in the game. However, what makes him memorable is how his individual quirkiness stands out in a world where quirk seems to be the norm.

The Resident Evil 4 Arms dealer.

He has no name, his origin’s are not known and he doesn’t say much. Which makes sense. He is an arms dealer in a decidedly strange situation. So we’ll simply refer to him by the name he calls the main character, Leon S. Kennedy, and that is stranger.

What makes our stranger is so cool is not the fact that he is always right there when you need him most, carrying with him some awesome guns and upgrades to help you battle your way to saving the president’s daughter. His presence also tends to serve as a subtle warning of how serious a threat you are about to encounter.

Garrus Vakarian of Mass Effect

In accordance with Turian norms, Garrus received military training at a young age before going on to become a C-SEC investigative officer responsible for the investigation of Seren’s (the top spectre before commander Shepard) shadowy activities. Which leads to him meeting Shepard.

What makes Garrus memorable is how he seems to hold on to his upstanding character, even with all the moral “fine lines” that are walked through the course of the campaign.

Doom’s Demon Legion

Last but definitely not least is the legion of demon warriors that the player has to do battle with in the first person cult classic that is the Room series.

Though these guys are not really the talkative type, anybody who has played through a Doom campaign can think of more than one moment were these enemies offered both enthralling entertainment and a helping hand.

Yes, a helping hand. When playing the campaign, one could gowde the enemies into fighting each other through a well timed evasive maneuver that leads to them accidentally shooting one another. This would result in them attacking each other in retaliation, allowing the player to pick off any survivors.

This somewhat simple intricacy made the game that much more entertaining to play, even to watch. In no particular order of course.
