1. The Void Lords

The Void Lords are cosmic entities deeply embedded within the lore of World of Warcraft. These unfathomable beings reside within the void, a dark and chaotic dimension, and their ultimate goal is to consume all of reality. To achieve this sinister aim, the Void Lords seek to corrupt and harness the power of the Old Gods, ancient and corrupted creatures that once roamed Azeroth. The relationship between the Void Lords and the Old Gods is symbiotic, as the Old Gods’ presence in Azeroth serves as a gateway for the Void’s influence.
We put them at first place because up until recently the Titans (basically the gods of the WoW universe) didn’t even notice their existence proving they are more powerful than the Titans themselves. However, so far there hasn’t been much information about them. It is expected more will be revealed in the next expansion.

2. Sargeras

Sargeras, the leader of the Burning Legion in the World of Warcraft lore, is widely regarded as the second strongest character in the game’s universe, second only to the Void Lords themselves. His immense power stems from several key factors. First, Sargeras was originally a noble and powerful Titan, one of the cosmic beings responsible for shaping and maintaining the universe. So, we can basically call him a god. Secondly, Sargeras commands the mightiest demonic army in existence, the Burning Legion. Plus, we know that he can wipe out a planet from existence with one single touch. Sargeras and Lucifer are similar in a lot of things, they’re both deities that are considered ”fallen” and are also at least lore-wise considered the masterminds behind most evil in the world.

3. The Pantheon (Aman’Thul, Eonar, Norgannon, Golganneth, Khaz’goroth, Aggramar)

In the vast and intricate universe of World of Warcraft, the Titans are ancient and awe-inspiring cosmic beings. These colossal, god-like entities are the architects of worlds, responsible for shaping and ordering the chaotic cosmos. Their unrivaled power is rooted in their unique ability to manipulate the very fabric of reality, crafting planets and imbuing them with life. The Titans are so strong because they possess an unparalleled mastery over arcane forces, allowing them to reshape entire worlds.

4. The Old Gods (C’Thun, Yogg-Saron, N’Zoth, Y’Shaarj)

In the expansive World of Warcraft universe, the Old Gods are ancient, malevolent entities. They dwell deep beneath Azeroth’s surface, spreading corruption. These beings are immensely powerful, their tendrils reaching into mortal minds, sowing madness. Their origins used to be shrouded in mystery. However, in recent lore expansions, it has been revealed that they are a creation of the void lord. Their purpose is to corrupt the Titan who is inside of a plant thus adding it to the void. Despite their confinement, they continue to manipulate events in Azeroth. The Old Gods are a source of constant dread, their dark influence a shadow that lingers over the world, making them enduring and ominous figures in Warcraft lore.

5. Elune

Elune, a revered goddess in the World of Warcraft universe, wields incredible powers. She’s known for her radiant light, healing, and life-giving abilities. So, it comes as no surprise that Elune’s divine influence empowers her followers, granting them strength and guidance. Her presence in the night sky is said to inspire hope and wonder among the night elves. However, Elune’s exact origins and nature remain mysterious. Her powers shape the destiny of Azeroth, making her a revered and potent force in the Warcraft lore.

6. Naaru

The Naaru are another celestial beings within the World of Warcraft universe. These benevolent entities actively combat the forces of darkness, offering guidance and wisdom to those who seek their aid. The Naaru’s radiant presence can purify and heal, and they’re often called upon in times of great peril. These beings are revered by the draenei, who share a close bond with them. Similar to the one of Elune and the Night Elves. Their strength derives from their ability to harness and manipulate this divine energy, allowing them to heal, purify, and combat the forces of darkness effectively. Additionally, their unwavering dedication to the cause of goodness and their commitment to fighting against the Void and the Burning Legion further amplifies their strength.

7. Medivh

Medivh is a significant character in the Warcraft universe. He is the son of Aegwynn, the Guardian of Tirisfal, and was born with innate magical talent. Medivh eventually became a Guardian himself, a position bestowed with tremendous magical power and the duty to protect Azeroth from demonic threats.

However, Medivh’s life took a dark turn when he was cursed by the dark titan Sargeras while still in his mother’s womb. This curse granted him vast knowledge but also led to his corruption and madness. Under Sargeras’s influence, Medivh opened the Dark Portal, allowing the orcish Horde to invade Azeroth, an event that triggered the First War.

8. Kil’jaeden/Archimonde

Kil’jaeden, a cunning and manipulative eredar, wields potent demonic magic, and he plays a key role in the Burning Legion’s relentless crusade to destroy worlds. Archimonde, on the other hand, is a colossal and fearsome eredar who leads the Legion’s armies with an iron fist. Both are architects of chaos and destruction, driven by a relentless desire to spread the corruption of the Burning Legion across the universe. Their immense power, strategic brilliance, and ruthless determination make them formidable adversaries in the ongoing battle for Azeroth’s survival.

9. Queen Azshara

Azshara was once the queen of the night elves. Her beauty was legendary, and her reign marked an era of prosperity in the ancient city of Zin-Azshari. Azshara’s thirst for power, however, led her down a treacherous path as she became enamored with dark forces. Particularly, her obsession with the Old Gods. It led to the catastrophic Sundering, which shattered the world of Azeroth. Transformed into a powerful naga sorceress, Azshara continues to scheme and plot, seeking to reclaim her lost glory and unleash unspeakable horrors upon the world. Her charisma, mastery of arcane magic, and ruthless ambition make her a captivating yet dangerous figure in the Warcraft lore.

10. Cenarius

Cenarius is a demigod who has a deep connection to nature and the Emerald Dream. As the son of the moon goddess Elune and the forest lord Malorne, Cenarius possesses a unique blend of celestial and natural powers. His presence in Azeroth brings life and vitality to the land, and he serves as a guardian of the natural world. Cenarius plays a crucial role in teaching and guiding mortal races, particularly night elves and tauren, in the ways of druidism and respecting the balance of nature. With his antlered crown and immense strength, Cenarius embodies the harmony between the mortal realm and the wilds.

Release date

Contrary to the last popular belief of Dragonflight releasing somewhere in late 2023, Blizzard has shocked everyone. It is expected for the expansion to be released in September of this year! Incredibly early, considering it has only recently been announced. This has stirred up some controversies in the fanbase and the general gaming public. Will the game be full of bugs, how much new content has been added, and whether is this a bad marketing strategy are all questions everyone has been asking themselves as of late. However, we can only wait to see the results. 

Why is Blizzard changing the Borrowed power route in Dragonflight?

Having your rightfully earned weapons taken right away at the start of the expansions resulted in a massive backlash from the players. Surprisingly though, Blizzard has listened to the player base and decided that they will be fixing that mistake. Another thing they have decided to fix is the mess of the talent trees. Now, instead of going for a more hybrid design, they will just be adding more talents for the ten talent points to aid in the progression of the game. 

This marks the death of borrowed power in World of Warcraft. Even though they expressed their concerns about this system of talents becoming too bloated in a few years’ time, they have also realized that a future problem can’t get in the way of the current gaming experience. Along with the changes in talents, they also said that legendaries aren’t planned. 

Gameplay in Dragonflight

Ahead of World of Warcraft is a change that will be bad at first but is necessary to keep the game running healthy. One of the developers on the Warcraft forum has announced that dungeons for the new expansion will be released two times, each featuring four dungeons along with mythic installations of four older dungeons. That means the content will feel fresh and players won’t have to farm the same loot again with every new season.

Why would this make Dragonflight more beginner friendly?

If the rooster of dungeons were to stay the same in the new season, all of the players would have in-depth knowledge of the gameplay tactics and loot from those same dungeons. This makes playing mythic plus for beginners a really hard experience cause of the gap between them and the older players. 

People were initially disappointed with this decision because they aren’t getting all of the eight dungeons in the first season. However, sometimes we must sacrifice our own personal wants for the greater good.

PVP is finally getting fixed

Brian Holinka, a World of Warcraft game designer, had an excellent interview with the famous player and YouTuber – Bajheera. With PVP as well, they are really focusing on making the game more friendly for beginners. In the previous expansions, PVP gear was directly connected to your rating. If you have played actively since the beginning of the season, you had nothing to worry about. However, if you wanted to jump on the train later on, you would have encountered some issues. Now, the gear is dependent on your conquest points only which will make the entire system of PVP gearing a lot more doable and engaging.

Closing thoughts

This new expansion is truly new to all of us. It has recently been announced and it will be released in the near future as well. As of so, we all have mixed feelings about it. However, all of the information they have released so far seems to sit well with the community. Hopefully, World of Warcraft is going in the right direction again.

Sadly, last year Blizzard encountered some controversies followed by lawsuits. However, this resulted in Microsoft acquiring the company. Because of that, no one expected this to come so soon, but here it is! Blizzard announced the Classic version of WoW: Wrath of the Lich King on April 19th. Here’s what we know:

Main information concerning World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic

We get it, everyone is excited to have our favorite character/villain back. After all, Arthas is arguably one of the best-written characters in the entire fantasy genre. But, the beta version of Wrath of the Lich King Classic is supposed to arrive somewhere in July or August, and the main version in late 2022.

Like other Classic expansions before this, if you have the subscription for retail, you can play Classic for free ($15/£10/€13). For now, it is unclear whether players will have to pay to clone their characters like in TBC. Since it caused a major outbreak, we highly doubt it. 

Now we all know what happens in WotLK. The content is not new but rather recycled with some changes.

Changes confirmed to come

Level boosts, yay… Just like in The Burning Crusade, level boosts will be offered in this Classic expansion as well. Players won’t have to grind their way to level 70 but rather can start their journey right in Northrend.

Now to more positive changes. The dungeon finder was first introduced in the original Wrath of the Lich King. However, the automated group finders ruined the community sense that made WoW so special. So, in the Classic reimagination Blizzard decided to remove the Dungeon Finder!

So far, we also know that barbershops are getting modernized as well with many hairstyles from modern WoW! Another change, due to player feedback, the original team rating in arena is getting replaced with a personal rating. 

Schedule for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic

The exact schedule for the Classic reimagination hasn’t been confirmed yet and we don’t expect it to happen soon. However, this is our prediction of the order in which content will be published:

1. Naxxramas, The Eye of Eternity, The Obsidian Sanctum
2. Ulduar (my personal favorite)
3. Trial of the Crusader, Onyxia’s Lair
4. Icecrown Citadel
5. The Ruby Sanctum

Closing thoughts

This is the first new content to be published under the ruling hand of Microsoft. Everyone is eagerly waiting to see if the future for World of Warcraft will be any brighter. So far, all of the changes coming seem to be positive. Our only hope is that they won’t be as greedy as with The Burning Crusade expansion.

World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft is an MMORPG that came out in 2004. It was published by Blizzard. For a long time, WoW was number one in its respective genre. However, everything changed in the past year. Due to the development team making some bad choices and controversies surrounding Blizzard, WoW lost its title to Final Fantasy 14.

That doesn’t change how great the game actually is. Together with long lore and an incredible amount of content, World of Warcraft has something to offer for everyone. You start off by making your own character and fighting your way through Azeroth. End-game content includes both PVE and PVP.

League of Legends

League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena videogame published by Riot Games. The premise of the game is a 5v5 fight of champions. Champions are playable characters that you fight with. Since the game’s release, LoL has continued getting new champions. The total number is 157 and the most recent champion is Vex.

Each player starts from level one. As you fight minions and the other team, you gain experience and get stronger throughout the game. The goal of the game is to destroy the enemy’s base.

League of Legends Worlds Championship is the annual tournament hosted by Riot Games. The teams fight for the cup and a multi-million dollar prize. Due to its success, there has been talking of it being an actual Olympics event.

Their differences

The first and main difference is the sheer premise of the games. Due to LoL being a MOBA game, it isn’t story-driven. On the other hand, WoW takes its RPG side very seriously. All of the content is brought together in the 24 books that were published by Blizzard.

Another big difference is the PvP. Despite Leauge having 154 champions, WoW’s PvP is still more complex. The reason for that is that there’s a lot of different PvP game modes. Also, WoW’s different classes and races play a big part.

Popularity-wise, Leauge takes the piece of the cake. With its 110 active players and a big esports community, WoW just can’t compare. The reason for that is the shift of the gaming industry. Videogames that require a lot of knowledge and ‘’farming’’ aren’t that sought after nowadays.

Closing

World of Warcraft and League of Legends as mentioned before are both great games in their own genre. This isn’t really a question of which game is better, but which genre you prefer. WoW is still subscription-based, but everyone can try out the game for free until the 20th level. With the new LoL show that has come out on Netflix, it is worth checking the game out as well.

The Burning Crusade Classic came out on the first of June 2021. The pre-patch was out on May 18th. Blizzard gave players the option to choose to either stay on the Classic era realms or move on to Burning Crusade. That ultimately led to Classic servers being left behind and deserted.

What went wrong?

One of the main issues was the release date. Blizzard announced that TBC Classic would be released on June the 1st. This was actually a leak and no one really thought that it would happen. The expectation was that June 1st will be the date of the pre-patch release. Many were dissatisfied because it didn’t give players enough time to level up to go to the dark portal.

On the other hand, this was also a marketing fail. There was no hype surrounding the release which is absolutely necessary for today’s games. A very short window to build excitement was made. Classic WoW marketing had been done a lot better. They used different influencers audiences to get people to play the game. It ultimately led to more conversations being made which then turned into excitement. These types of games need to have a longer period of time between when they’re announced and when they’re actually released in order to get people anticipating the release date.

Reason for the early release of The Burning Crusade

Speculations are made that Blizzard deliberately dropped TBC this early so that it doesn’t conflict with the 9.1 patch of Shadowlands. With the ongoing drought of content on retail WoW, the subscriptions are getting lower Competitors such as Final Fantasy 14 are catching warcraft players’ attention. It is thought that the patch will drop in July or August. The hopes are on July, because if it was to drop in August that would make 9 months since release with no update.

This is extremely bad and has happened once before with Icecrown Citadel in Wrath of the Lich King. However, people fail to consider the ongoing pandemic. The development team surely had to face many challenges and that is probably the biggest factor in content being delayed. Many also are dissatisfied with the developers taking a tone-deaf approach to criticism directed at certain parts of the game, such as legendaries and PvP.

The only problem isn’t the early release date, but the shortening of the pre-patch. Blizzard is going back on some things which players hoped would be possible such as levelling a character, that is either a draenei or a blood elf, before TBC. Those kinds of players will have to work twice as hard. It’s a big rush where you are frantically trying to get boosts – which leads to Blizzard getting more money. However, before Shadowlands they listened to the feedback and interviewed streamers.

Blizzards steady decline

Most fans will point out that Blizzard has been going down since the merger between Activision and Blizzard Entertainment which occurred in 2008. Activision has a bad reputation for squeezing out money from each franchise they touch. That results in the games dying out. This has been proven to be the case this time. The Dark Portal pass is $39.99. It includes a 58 level character boost with the exception of Draenei and blood elves.

The Burning Crusade Classic Deluxe edition is $69.99 and comes with 30 days of game time, The Dark Portal Pass, Phase-Hunter mount and cosmetic items. The biggest blow to the WoW community was the price of character cloning. To clone your character from Classic to TBC you must pay 35 dollars per character. This has caused outrage with most players who are forced to pay this big of an amount or stay on the dead WoW Classic servers.

Has Blizzard messed up big time finally? With one of the most loyal fanbases, people are finding it hard to justify paying a subscription of 15 dollars a month together with all the new added prices. After dominating the MMORPG genre and even the entire gaming industry for years, World of Warcraft is sadly losing its original charm.

The first thing to consider is making your character

World of Warcraft takes place in the world called Azeroth. It consists of two factions: Alliance and the Horde. Alliance supports bureaucracy and central leadership, while Horde is in favor of individual freedom and tribe leadership. You can only cooperate with your own faction. During an encounter with an opposite faction player, you will be able to kill each other. In your own cities, you will be safe. However, if you head to a city of the opposite faction, the guards will attack you. To which faction you belong is determined by which race you choose to play as.

Race determines your starting zone, special race abilities, and the appearance of your character. It also limits your choice of classes to choose from. Pandarens are neutral, but once you leave your starting zone you will have to choose either Horde or Alliance.

Picking your class is arguably the most important choice you make in World of Warcraft. It determines your combat role and style. As mentioned earlier, races have limited classes to choose from (for example only elves can become Demon Hunters).

There is no better or worse class, they all have their pros and cons. The balance between them shifts between each patch so do not concern yourself with that.

After you have decided on race, faction, and class, now it’s time for aesthetic customization and choosing a name. Upon finishing and entering the world, there will be a tutorial on all of the basics such as movement, combat, accepting and doing quests, etc.

User interface guide

In the upper left corner, there will be two bars below your name. One is your health (shown in green color) and the other will depend on the class you play. Some classes such as warlocks, priests, paladins, etc. will have mana, warriors rage, rouges energy.

On the bottom left is the chatbox. On top of it as a standard, there will be two tabs: general and combat log. To add another tab you simply right-click a channel and there will be a shown option to add it as a tab. Above the chatbox on the left, is your social where you can either add friends or put some users on ignore if they’re bothering you.

In the middle at the bottom of your screen is your Hotbar with all the spells. This is the most useful part of your user interface. To change keybinds press ESC and interface. Underneath it is the experience bar where you will be able to see how far you have progressed in your level.

On the bottom right there is a set of multiple buttons called quick menu. The first one is character info. It shows all of your equipped items and stats, as well as your reputation. To improve your reputation with a certain smaller faction you have to do quests or kill certain mobs. Improving your reputation comes with achievements, access to certain goods, and much more.

The next in line is the spellbook. It shows all of your abilities and what they do. On the bottom of the spellbook, there is a professions tab. At any given moment you can have 2 professions which you learn at a professions trainer.

Specializations and talents guide

The next button is specializations and talents. Each specialization gives new abilities. You can switch between them at any given moment in a safe space. When you open the talent tab, on the left you will see numbers. They stand for levels. After you hit the level shown you will be able to activate one talent in each row. That can be an active spell or a passive buff. For a more detailed guide to talents check your class guide.

On the right side of it, you will notice War mode. It gives you an option to either stay passive, which means you won’t be able to attack or be attacked by the opposing faction in your factions’ territories, or if it’s activated you will be able to attack and be attacked. It can only be activated in main cities (Orgrimmar for Horde and Stormwind for alliance).

Next up are achievements where you can see all of your completed and non completed achievements.

Next to it is the quest guide where you will have all of your quests cleared up and explained. On the map, other than the quests, flight routes will be shown as shoes with wings. They are quick means of travel in the world with small fees. Quests that require you to be in a certain area will highlight it in blue on your map.

Furthermore is the guild and communities button. As you level you will be able to either join or create your own guild. Guilds are simply a collection of players that play together and cooperate. Since WoW is a highly social game, joining a guild is advised as it will make things easier and more fun!

I will get into group finder in the dungeons section of the guide.

Non-essential things

After it, there is a collections button. It contains a list of all items and fashion choices you have found so far. In a major city, you can transmogrify your items, meaning keep the stats of one item and looks of another. The first tab are mounts. It shows a list of all the mounts and where to find them. As they are an activated item, to use them you must drag the icon to your Hotbar.

Next in line are pets and your toy box. Toys are non-essential fun items you can purchase at a vendor. After the toy box is the heirlooms tab. Heirlooms are expensive items you can purchase then use on any character on your account. By purchasing heirlooms the leveling process will be a lot faster. Appearance is tied to transmogrification. It will show all of the possible items that you can transmogrify for your class.

Next in line is the Adventure guide button. It will show all of the recommendations for quests, raids, and dungeons for your level.

Above all of this, your bags will be shown. By right-clicking the circle icon of a bag you can customize what your bag can and cannot hold which will make your inventory a lot neater.

The top right shows the minimap, calendar, and in-game time. If you click on the magnifying glass, you can choose what you want the minimap to track.

Equipping items guide

The power of your character is heavily linked to the items equipped. Each class is limited to what type of armor they can wear. If you hover over an item in your backpack you will see its name displayed in color. The color of the name shows the rarity of the item. From worst to best it goes: poor (grey), common (white), uncommon (green), rare (blue), epic (purple), legendary (orange), artifact (gold), and heirloom (light blue).

Item level is the general guide to how useful an item is. The higher the item level the better the item. At the beginning of your journey just equip the highest level. However, after a while, you will have to carefully evaluate all of the stats the item gives you. Item durability shows how much punishment can an item take before it breaks. If it hits 0 it won’t disappear but will simply stop giving any bonuses. You can repair your items at any blacksmith vendor. To see which item is better, hover over the new one in your backpack and press shift. Then you will be able to see the difference between certain stats in each of the items.  To make sure which stats are best for you, it is best recommended to check out your class guide.

Interaction guide

While playing World of Warcraft you will be able to interact with the vastly complex world. Three main points of interaction will be: NPC’s (non-playable characters),  other players, and the environment.

NPCs will have their names displayed above their head. If they have a job it will be under their name in pointed brackets. Different color names mean different things: green is friendly, yellow is neutral and red is hostile. Important to note: if a mob has an ornated character icon they are more dangerous.

If you accidentally sell a wrong item to the vendor, you can click the buyback tab and get your item back.

Interacting with a player is simple. Once you target them, on the top left you can left-click their icon and multiple options will appear which are self-explanatory. If you get into a duel with a player, the loser won’t die, but will just be brought to low health.

A tip for looting items: if its body is sparkling you can loot the thing whether it be professions material or a dead mod.

Combat guide

If a mob has a yellow name then it’s neutral. It won’t attack you unless you attack them first.Red name is an enemy. It will attack you once you’re within its range. Pressing tab will target your nearest enemy and all of your next attacks will be towards that specific target.

World of Warcraft uses the holy trinity archetype which means every player falls under 3 general combat styles: tanks, healers, and DPS (damage dealers). The job of a tank is to hold the enemy’s attention and not die. They usually have a lot of health and higher defense. The healer keeps the rest of the team alive focusing on the tank. They will be on the outskirts of combat.Dps are focused on one thing and that is hitting as hard as possible.It is important to note that some classes can perform all 3 roles. A detailed class guide will have overview of all the roles a class can perform.

Specializations guide

They are accessed at level 10. Each class has several specializations. Different specializations can affect which part of the holy trinity you will be. Finding which part of the combat triangle you enjoy is crucial to enjoying the game.

What’s aggro?

When attacking an enemy it is important to keep an eye out on aggro. Aggro is the term we use for how likely an enemy is to attack a person. You build up the enemy’s aggro by attacking it. In general, the tank should always have the aggro. They have specific attacks that bring the enemies’ attention to themselves. That’s why it is important to let the tank attack first. If a DPS is doing too much damage, it is tactical to wait for the tank to build up some more aggro.

Rotation

Whatever class you play, you will have an optimal order of your attacks for max effect. That is known as rotation. It is optimized by taking into account each ability and its cooldown. If you are unsure about how your rotation should look like, read a guide for your class.

Enemies

They can be broadly divided into 3 categories: mobs, elites, and bosses. Mobs are typically low-level and attack in groups if you aggro one of them. A tank should make sure that he has all of the mobs attacking him before DPS starts to kill. An elite is a slightly tougher enemy. Bosses are huge complicated fights. You can find them in dungeons and raids and they are linked to the story.

Quests and leveling up

A player’s role in World of Warcraft is to save Azeroth from the dangers it is in. You start that by completing quests. They can range from small local tasks to multi-planet adventures. Most of them will be fetch quests (a term used for quests that require you to kill a certain amount of mobs or collect a certain amount of quest-specific resources).

Dungeons and raids guide

A dungeon is a short self-contained adventure, usually following a linear path from start to finish where you fight mini-bosses and the main dungeon boss. Adventure guide gives a list of all dungeons, raids, and possible rewards you can earn. You can change the drop-down of dungeons or raids by selecting a different expansion in the top right of the window opened.

When you open a dungeon or raid in the adventure guide, you will be able to see a list of bosses on the left. If you click on one of them, the guide will give you more info about the boss. If you click on the loot tab, you will be able to see all the loot that a boss drops. On the top, you can even change it so you only see items for a specific class or even specialization.

The party leader selects the difficulty of a dungeon. To do this right click your icon in the top left then select dungeon difficulty and change it to whatever you want.

If you don’t have anybody to play with you can use the dungeon/raid group finder. You will see all of the raids and dungeons you are eligible for. On the top, you will have to select if you’re queuing as a healer, tank, or DPS. You can enter 10 instances per hour.

Raids are much harder and longer instances, ranging from 10 to 40 players. Each raid can be completed once a week. They have four difficulties: looking for a group, normal, heroic, and mythic. Mythic raids take months to become good at.

Professions

Professions are skills that a player uses to gather useful material or to craft useful items. It is only possible to learn 2 of the 9 primary professions. These are: alchemy (crafting potions), blacksmithing (making plate gear), enchanting (increases the power of an item), engineering (produces useful items and buffs), Herbalism (gathering of herbs), leatherworking (makes leather armor), mining (gathering of ores), skinning (gathering of skin from dead enemies), tailoring (makes cloth items). There are also 3 minor professions: cooking, fishing, and archeology. You can learn all three at the same time.

Pet battles

Pet battles are a term-based minigame that you can play within World of Warcraft, but they are not essential. They’re similar in some aspects to Pokemon. To start you will have to visit a pet trainer in any major city and purchase your first pet. Each pet has its strengths and weaknesses, plus they gain new abilities as they level up.

If you find a rare item that you do not need, it is best to sell it at the auction house. Items that are soulbound cannot be sold to any other player. The auction house is located in Stormwind for the Alliance or Orgrimmar for the Horde. The first auction house tab gives you the option to search and buy items that you need. The second tab is bids. There all things that you are trying to buy will be displayed. The third tab is where you sell your items. When you list an item, you will see a deposit fee. If your item sells, you will get the fee back with a small cut on the sold item, but if it doesn’t sell you won’t get it back. Any sales that happen while you are offline will be sent to your mailbox.

World of Warcraft is so amazing because of the number of options it gives to everybody which ensures that you will find something for yourself. The most important choice you will make is deciding on a class. There are 12 different ones and each one of them has 3 talent trees which further expands the customization of your character by spending talent points on different spells of your liking. Other choices you make during the process of making your characters are faction and race. The factions are Horde and Alliance which have been fighting against each other since the dawn of time. They can’t communicate or form groups together. Race affects the appearance of your character, the starting zone, and some racial abilities.

Upon entering the world the amount of content seems almost overwhelming. The game is based on 24 books which gives WoW its exquisite lore. It provides countless quests with the most beautiful stories, dungeons, and raids with a deep history. This is the PvE (player vs environment) aspect of the game. For those who want some action versus real players, there are different game modes such as duels (1v1 in a controlled environment), arenas (which range from 2 players a team to 5), battlegrounds, and world PVP. Other smaller aspects include professions, mounts, battle pets, etc.

However, the best part is the community. Since the game is time-consuming, you will definitely meet a lot of amazing people along the way. The bonds made in WoW, especially in the guilds, are the hidden gem of the game.
