Chinese studio Game Science has released a short animation called “Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit” that specifies a “summer 2024” release date for Black Myth: Wukong.

Last year, YouTuber Ranton, who previously designed the characters and combat of Black Myth: Wukong, parted ways with Game Science Studio due to disagreements over the game’s development decisions. He has recently claimed that the development of this game is progressing slowly. Perhaps one of the reasons for the long construction process is the change of engine graphics to Unreal Engine 5.

In August 2021, another developer working on the stage design for Black Myth: Wukong claimed that only one stage of the game had been developed at the time. According to him, the game did not have any cutscenes or boss fights until then.

Black Myth requires at least 15 hours to complete, and its creators have decided to design more than 100 enemies and monsters to keep the audience engaged. Weapons

You have 6 weapons, 2 of which are always with you and you can choose your other 2 main weapons. You will find 4 of the weapons during the first 4 stages. It’s fun to use them all, and each weapon has a special ability that you can use if you kill enough demons with it.

6 weapons, only 4 of which are main weapons, may seem less compared to other games of this genre, but the total number of stages in this game is very small; This will prevent you from using these weapons again. But on the other hand, these stages are all enjoyable and have wonderful music for shooting with their rhythm.

At the end of each stage, you can play the same stage again with new challenges called Torments. Due to the well-designed stages, these double challenges increase the game’s replay value.

You will face a boss fight in each stage. Unfortunately, all these boss fights are in the same form and with the same music. It only changes the fighting environment and some features of the boss of that stage.

The title Metal: Hellsinger is a relatively short but very enjoyable game for fans of rhythmic shooter games and, above all, fans of heavy metal music. In an interview with Eurogamer, game director David Stanton and creative director James Worrall explained that the city of Los Angeles in Dead Island 2 is divided into several regions of different extents. Some of these areas are smaller and others are extensive. The game offers a variety of side missions and activities to the players.

Dead Island 2 will, however, follow a linear progression, with new areas unlocked only by progressing through the story. Of course, players will have the option to return to older areas whenever they want.

“We have divided the city of Los Angeles into a series of districts. Some of them will be wide while others will be small. The area you experienced today is one of the smaller locations in the game. As you progress through the story, you can travel between unlockable areas. There are different types of side activities in these areas“

One of the exciting things about the world of Dead Island 2 is that the zombies in each area will be unique, and players will encounter new types of zombies by traveling through different regions.

“Each region has its zombie population, and they all reflect the characteristics of that region. Especially the Los Angeles lifestyle, how they choose, and how they dress. For example, in the game, there is some kind of zombie skaters who use helmets for this sport. We also have Muscle Beach, where you’ll encounter all sorts of beefy zombies on steroids. These are supposed to be right in front of you, right? We’re not interested in unleashing hordes of World War II zombies on players from afar. You know it’s all about combat and quick reaction. So these zombies have to feel like they were real people before.“

Dead Island: Release Date

Dead Island 2 will be available on PC, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on February 2023. The PC version of this game will be exclusive to the Epic Games store.

During the previous game, we got to see the bond between Kratos and Atreus grow as father and son. Atreus is a very moldable character as he is still a child and is curious about what he is and what his father is. Everyone is eager to find out which paths Atreus will take in order to become his own man. We saw in the previous game that Kratos doesn’t want Atreus to go through the same bloody and gory path as he did fighting the gods. After learning of Atreus’s giant heritage and prophecy, the main plot premise for this game seems to be to stop Ragnarök.

In this captivating trailer, we got to peek at the improved animation and graphics which turned stunning into stellar. We also get to see some conflict ensue between Kratos and Atreus as he wants to learn about who he is whilst Kratos wants to protect his son and keep him away from the gods. We believe Kratos will have to endure tons of pain in this story as his son grows into a man and makes his own decisions. We also got to see a bit of Freya and Thor, the main antagonists for this game. After what Kratos did in the last game, Freya is searching for vengeance against Kratos. Freya is already known to be one of the most formidable characters in GoW but her along with Thor will give our protagonists a near-impossible challenge. We even got to see a few seconds of Mjolnir in Thor’s hands whilst Kratos stands opposite to him.

Gameplay of God of War: Ragnarök

Naturally, they also showcased some fight gameplay during the trailer leaving fans on the edge craving to play. The trailer teased at new attacks and runic summons for Atreus, and of course, the return of Kratos’ godly weapons. Santa Monica also claims to have “worked hard to take [their] learnings from God of War (2018) and improve upon combat to feel fresh, yet familiar[… ]One of [their] main goals was to push player choice in combat.” Everyone felt as if the combat mechanisms were getting redundant and overused and so the studio claims to have added ways to customize gameplay for the individual, making the gameplay feel even more personal and captivating. The game has also promised newer and fresher settings with more interaction and choices for the player to make. 

Closing thoughts

Everyone is eagerly awaiting the release date for God of War: Ragnarök as 2022 approaches. Santa Monica promises a game that is levels ahead of anything that they have released before and fans are all in for it.

Unlike it’s parent-title, the Yakuza spin-off cuts a darker, more broody undertone as one plays a former lawyer turned investigator, who must delve deeper into Tokyo’s underbelly to discover the mystery behind a recent spate of murders. Judgement offers just enough investigative activity to keep players enthralled, but does much of the decision making for the player. The title offers a fresh, more fast-paced take on the detective game genre. 

The Judgement narrative is told in chapters throughout the lengthy, yet engaging, title’s gameplay. As the main character – voiced by Japanese superstar, Takuya Kimura – players of the title will find that it has a combat mechanism similar to previous Yakuza titles, Yakuza 0, and Yakuza Kiwami. Aside from almost endless combat, the game I’ll have one employing the title’s Investigation Mode, to sniff out clues and witnesses. 

As previously mentioned, the story follows the investigative exploits of Takayuki Yagami. A complex character, and former lawyer, who – after discovering that he had helped keep a murderer from going to prison – quit his Forster father’s law firm, and set up a small private investigation firm with friend – and former crime family member – Masaharu Kaito.

Yagami wanders the criminal underworld of fictional Tokyo district, Kamurocho, investigating a murder mystery. Three crime bosses have been murdered in similar fashion, within the space of just three months. Yagami walks the same world that plays womb to the narrative as the rest of the Yakuza series, so players can expect the game to seem quite familiar in look, and feel. The biggest change, from original Yakuza titles, is the game’s pacing, and resolution – 60 frames per second.

Gotaku really threw on all the bells, and whistles to make sure it plays like a gripping investigative drama. Between fighting baddies, and gathering information from clues and witnesses, the player is gifted with brief – human – moments that make the game feel more like a movie who’s narrative involves the viewer. From simply having a cigarette in your own private corner, to mundane cat related mysteries. 

The game is not without it’s real-world influences, many of the brands found in-game, are real world brands. There’s a running joke about a ponzi scheme known as Kickstarter – get it? The game even features a pop culture spoof of a hit US detective series. 

Fans of the original Yakuza series will probably appreciate the fact that the game was not too extreme, a deviation, from the original title. Fans who will experience the series for the first time, through the spin-off, will be treated to a slower-paced, more cerebral, initiation into Kamurocho. The multiple layers to the game’s story, and cut scenes will really create the effect of being sucked into a detective flick.
