The original Ghostrunner game was a massive hit with the entire gaming community, with everyone praising its fluid gameplay. Chinese studio Game Science has released a short animation called “Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit” that specifies a “summer 2024” release date for Black Myth: Wukong.

Last year, YouTuber Ranton, who previously designed the characters and combat of Black Myth: Wukong, parted ways with Game Science Studio due to disagreements over the game’s development decisions. He has recently claimed that the development of this game is progressing slowly. Perhaps one of the reasons for the long construction process is the change of engine graphics to Unreal Engine 5.

In August 2021, another developer working on the stage design for Black Myth: Wukong claimed that only one stage of the game had been developed at the time. According to him, the game did not have any cutscenes or boss fights until then.

Black Myth: Wukong

Black Myth requires at least 15 hours to complete, and its creators have decided to design more than 100 enemies and monsters to keep the audience engaged. Of course, according to the number of current members of the studio, they have to divide the work between different teams, and for example, only one of these teams is responsible for designing the stages.

A total of 30 people are currently part of the Game Science Studio, with more than 10,000 applicants soon to join.

In Metal: Hellsinger you take on the role of a character called The Unknown who has had his voice stolen and has been imprisoned in Hell for years. Paz tells the story most of the time through semi-animated cutscenes. Of course, you should not expect a complete and meaningful story from such games, because the main focus of these types of games is on their gameplay, but Metal: Hellsinger was able to present a purposeful story in the middle of its exciting gameplay.

Heavy metal rhythm

Metal: Hellsinger has done well with music from very popular heavy metal singers and bands, such as Alissa White, Mikael Stanne, and Matt Heafy. Each stage has its own special music and environment design to separate each stage from the others.

To use the rhythmic system in its gameplay, the game Metal: Hellsinger has placed marks on the sides of the crosshair that move in sync with the BPM of the music on that stage, and by firing at the right time, the Fury ratio on the top of the screen will also increase. Increasing this ratio, in addition to increasing your damage power, also makes the background music more perfect over time; Until the x16 factor, the vocals are also added to the music.

Increasing the ratio and staying at x16 is not that difficult; therefore, the game experience will be very enjoyable. But if you don’t shoot for a while, for example, because you have to go to another area and there are no enemies in the environment, your multiplier will be reduced. By lowering the Fury from x16 to x8, the audio stops and the music returns to its original state.

Weapons

You have 6 weapons, 2 of which are always with you and you can choose your other 2 main weapons. You will find 4 of the weapons during the first 4 stages. It’s fun to use them all, and each weapon has a special ability that you can use if you kill enough demons with it.

6 weapons, only 4 of which are main weapons, may seem less compared to other games of this genre, but the total number of stages in this game is very small; This will prevent you from using these weapons again. But on the other hand, these stages are all enjoyable and have wonderful music for shooting with their rhythm.

At the end of each stage, you can play the same stage again with new challenges called Torments. Due to the well-designed stages, these double challenges increase the game’s replay value.

You will face a boss fight in each stage. Unfortunately, all these boss fights are in the same form and with the same music. It only changes the fighting environment and some features of the boss of that stage.

Conclusion

The title Metal: Hellsinger is a relatively short but very enjoyable game for fans of rhythmic shooter games and, above all, fans of heavy metal music. The very good design of the stages, their extraordinary original music, and the special challenges of each stage multiply the value of the experience of each stage.

The Outsiders studio has managed to provide a great experience in this game and also create a solid foundation for the development of future games.

Some of these areas are smaller and others are extensive. The game offers a variety of side missions and activities to the players.

“We have divided the city of Los Angeles into a series of districts. Some of them will be wide while others will be small. The area you experienced today is one of the smaller locations in the game. One of the exciting things about the world of Dead Island 2 is that the zombies in each area will be unique, and players will encounter new types of zombies by traveling through different regions.

“Each region has its zombie population, and they all reflect the characteristics of that region. Especially the Los Angeles lifestyle, how they choose, and how they dress. For example, in the game, there is some kind of zombie skaters who use helmets for this sport. We also have Muscle Beach, where you’ll encounter all sorts of beefy zombies on steroids. These are supposed to be right in front of you, right? We’re not interested in unleashing hordes of World War II zombies on players from afar. You know it’s all about combat and quick reaction. So these zombies have to feel like they were real people before.“

Dead Island: Release Date

Dead Island 2 will be available on PC, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on February 2023. The PC version of this game will be exclusive to the Epic Games store.

Midnight Fight Express

If I want to summarize this game in one word, I have to say that the action of this game is very cool and this opinion remains the same at every stage of the game. From the beginning of the game, even though you haven’t unlocked any special combo yet, the gameplay manages to make the audience addicted to the game.

Controlling the game is also very simple, with one button for your punches and kicks, one button to defend and parry attacks, one to grab, one to dodge, and most importantly, one to pick up and throw objects and weapons.

You can pick up various objects from boxes to chairs of dishes and anything else you can think of and throw them at your enemies. What makes this mechanic unique, however, is its speed and integration with your normal fights

In addition to environmental objects, there are general weapons, such as knives, sticks, guns, etc., which you can use normally to defeat enemies; And of course, throw them at the enemies whenever you want.

These are just your early game features that increase in variety as you progress through the stages. But as you complete each stage you will receive a skill upgrade point. You can use upgrade points for one of the combo categories. This upgrade system ensures that you improve as you complete each stage. You will become a very dangerous creature. But that doesn’t mean the end game will be easy. The game will maintain its sense of challenge in all stages.

Game Stages

All stages of Midnight Fight Express are full of chaos and exciting super-action scenarios. But the repeated use of any style of gameplay may become repetitive after a while and the game maker knows this very well, so every few stages you will experience a series of action scenarios and unique boss fights; That will entice you to keep playing just to see what else is waiting for you. As you complete each stage, related challenges will open up so that you can experience them again.

In addition, different enemies specific to that area are also introduced in each game environment. Most of them look different from the enemies of the previous areas. For example, Plague Bearers quickly dodge your shots when you get a firearm, gang members fight rival gang members, cops can disarm you if you approach them, and many more.

But in the meantime, there are some enemies whose designs are more annoying than challenging your skill. For example, enemies called The Possessed, who keep jumping into the air, or the Rat King, who won’t let you hit or defend. There are others whose difficulty limits you from using most of your skills. But fortunately, the number of these unbalanced enemies is few and they only appear in some special stages.

Save The City in One Night

The story of the game is not revolutionary and therefore the main focus of the game experience is on the best gameplay of the game. Your story begins when you are arrested and asked to tell the detectives your story.

You play the role of a person nicknamed “Baby Face” in your apartment when a drone named “Droney” enters your house and asks you to help him save the city of Tomorrow because the city is almost dominated by criminals and in the center of it there is a person nicknamed The Boss in control of all this chaos. According to him, it seems that you were part of the members of these criminals, but now you have no memory of the reason and what you did. So, your mission is to save the city.

Also, throughout the story, the game is full of various references to popular games and media, of which you will undoubtedly recognize at least a few; the positive point of this issue is that these references are not forcibly included in the story of the game and the same sense of integrity is felt in this context.

Along with all these interesting things, the developer of the game has managed to make the experience of Midnight Fight Express even more interesting with the soundtrack of the game.

Game Music

Of course, music is one of the main parts of any video game, but what makes the music of Midnight Fight Express unique is the amount of power and the wonderful mix of each music in each stage of this game.

Noisecream is the composer of the game’s music. This electro-style music is so great that it increases the level of adrenaline in your body and turns all your fights in Midnight Fight Express into a very special and cool experience.

Conclusion

Midnight Fight Express has once again shown that a game doesn’t need a big budget, a big team, or heavy graphics to provide a great gaming experience. The game’s developer, Jacob Zweinell, along with the wonderful music of Noisecream, has managed to create a delightful work with the ability to experience the game multiple times.

But of course, among all the good things that the game offers, there have been some weaknesses, which fortunately in this title, its weaknesses do not prevent the good experience of the game. However, Midnight Fight Express is, overall, a great success and one of the best indie titles I’ve ever played.

Kratos and Atreus

During the previous game, we got to see the bond between Kratos and Atreus grow as father and son. Atreus is a very moldable character as he is still a child and is curious about what he is and what his father is. Everyone is eager to find out which paths Atreus will take in order to become his own man. We saw in the previous game that Kratos doesn’t want Atreus to go through the same bloody and gory path as he did fighting the gods. After learning of Atreus’s giant heritage and prophecy, the main plot premise for this game seems to be to stop Ragnarök.

Trailer and sneak peeks of God of War: Ragnarök

In this captivating trailer, we got to peek at the improved animation and graphics which turned stunning into stellar. We also get to see some conflict ensue between Kratos and Atreus as he wants to learn about who he is whilst Kratos wants to protect his son and keep him away from the gods. We believe Kratos will have to endure tons of pain in this story as his son grows into a man and makes his own decisions. We also got to see a bit of Freya and Thor, the main antagonists for this game. After what Kratos did in the last game, Freya is searching for vengeance against Kratos. Freya is already known to be one of the most formidable characters in GoW but her along with Thor will give our protagonists a near-impossible challenge. We even got to see a few seconds of Mjolnir in Thor’s hands whilst Kratos stands opposite to him.

Gameplay of God of War: Ragnarök

Naturally, they also showcased some fight gameplay during the trailer leaving fans on the edge craving to play. The trailer teased at new attacks and runic summons for Atreus, and of course, the return of Kratos’ godly weapons. Santa Monica also claims to have “worked hard to take [their] learnings from God of War (2018) and improve upon combat to feel fresh, yet familiar[… ]One of [their] main goals was to push player choice in combat.” Everyone felt as if the combat mechanisms were getting redundant and overused and so the studio claims to have added ways to customize gameplay for the individual, making the gameplay feel even more personal and captivating. The game has also promised newer and fresher settings with more interaction and choices for the player to make. 

Closing thoughts

Everyone is eagerly awaiting the release date for God of War: Ragnarök as 2022 approaches. Santa Monica promises a game that is levels ahead of anything that they have released before and fans are all in for it.

Altough this isn’t confirmed yet, it is suggested that the Ghost of Tsushima could very well go down the route of games such as Nier : Automata with dialogue entirely in Japanese alongside English subtitles.
