For gamers and creators who work mostly at a desk and want a premium-feeling screen without a premium price, the Legion 5i is one of the most tempting machines on the market right now. For road warriors, the story gets more complicated.

An OLED Screen That Punches Above the Price

The headline feature is that display. Lenovo fits a WQXGA OLED panel at 2560 x 1600, running at 165Hz and reaching around 500 nits of brightness. In plain terms: deep blacks, vivid colour, buttery motion, and plenty of punch even in a well-lit room. It is the kind of screen that usually lives on laptops costing hundreds more, and it instantly makes games, video, and everyday work look richer.

The taller 16:10 ratio helps too, giving you more vertical space for timelines, spreadsheets, and long documents when the gaming stops and the work begins.

More Gaming Muscle Than You’d Expect

Under the hood, the Legion 5i pairs Intel’s latest Core Ultra HX chips with Nvidia RTX 5060, 5070, or 5070 Ti graphics. Reviewers consistently note that the RTX 5060 configuration overdelivers against similarly specced competitors, squeezing out stronger frame rates than the raw numbers suggest. Add stellar ergonomics — a comfortable keyboard and a generous spread of ports for play and productivity — and this is a laptop that works as hard as it plays.

That combination of a genuinely great screen and above-average performance is what makes the Legion 5i feel like more laptop than its price implies.

The Catch: Battery and Noise

Here is where the easy decisions end. Despite an 80Wh battery, runtime away from a wall socket is a letdown — this is not a laptop you leave the charger at home for. And when the components are pushed, the fans ramp up loud enough to draw attention in a quiet room. Neither flaw undermines the core experience at a desk, but both are worth knowing before you buy. If all-day battery and silent operation top your list, the Asus TUF Gaming A16 makes a stronger travel companion, even without the OLED dazzle.

The Verdict

The Lenovo Legion 5i Gen 10 delivers a gorgeous OLED screen, strong RTX performance, and sharp value — a package that is easy to recommend for anyone who games and creates from a home base. Just go in knowing the trade-off: short battery life and loud fans are the price of all that on-screen beauty. For desk-bound buyers, it is a steal. For frequent travellers, weigh it against a brighter-on-battery alternative like the MSI Katana 15 HX before you commit.

A 25-Watt Chip Rewrites the Power-Laptop Playbook

The headline change inside the 2026 Blade 16 is Intel’s Panther Lake-based Core Ultra 9 386H, a 25-watt processor that replaces the 55-watt HX-class chips found in competing flagship laptops, including last year’s AMD-powered Blade. Paired with an RTX 5090, 32GB of DDR5 memory, and a 2TB SSD in the reviewed configuration, the machine still pushes serious frame rates — averaging well over 130 fps at 1080p in demanding ray-traced benchmarks.

The catch is multi-threaded workloads. A lower-wattage CPU means the Blade 16 gives up some ground in heavy productivity tasks and shows a measurable frame-rate gap at 4K compared to HX-powered competitors. For a gamer chasing the absolute ceiling, that gap is worth knowing about before buying. For a founder who edits video, streams, or does 3D work between meetings, the trade generally pays for itself in a laptop that runs cooler and lasts longer away from an outlet.

The OLED Display and Chassis That Justify the Hype

Razer’s industrial design has always carried the brand, and the 2026 Blade 16 does not deviate from that formula. The 16-inch, 240Hz OLED panel measured strong color coverage and brightness in testing, delivering the kind of punchy, accurate image gaming and creative professionals expect from a top-tier display. Razer also managed to keep the chassis remarkably thin — under 15mm at its slimmest point — while still packing a vapor chamber and thermal hood to manage heat from a 5090-class GPU.

That combination of a slim, understated aluminum shell and a genuinely excellent screen is why the Blade line keeps showing up on best-laptop lists year after year. It looks and feels like a premium business machine that happens to be one of the fastest gaming laptops on the market, which is exactly the pitch for buyers who need one device to do both jobs.

Why the Price Tag Is the Real Verdict

Here is where the review turns from admiration to hesitation. The reviewed configuration lands close to $4,900, a meaningful jump over the previous generation, and stepping up to the top-spec build pushes the price even further out of reach for most buyers. That number puts the Blade 16 well above most RTX 5090 laptops on the market, and it is the single biggest reason to pause before ordering.

The value case still holds for a specific buyer: someone who genuinely needs desktop-class GPU power in a machine light enough to carry to a client meeting, a LAN event, or an airport gate, and who does not want to compromise on display quality or build. The Blade 16’s battery life is a real differentiator here — it is the rare RTX 5090 laptop that can realistically leave the charger behind for a stretch, which is not a small thing for anyone who works or games on the road. For everyone else, cheaper HX-powered alternatives will deliver more raw performance per dollar. Buyers hunting value can also weigh the Framework 13 Pro, a more repairable take on the premium laptop.

The Bottom Line for Buyers Weighing the Investment

The 2026 Razer Blade 16 is engineering done well: a thoughtful trade-off between power and portability, wrapped in one of the best displays and chassis designs in the category. It remains a laptop worth wanting. Whether it is worth buying comes down to budget and use case rather than capability. Entrepreneurs and professionals who value mobility, screen quality, and brand cachet will find it easy to justify. Buyers chasing maximum frames per dollar have faster, cheaper options elsewhere. Either way, the price tag — not the hardware — is what will decide most people’s answer.
