Elden Ring Torrent skins are one of the most charming additions in the Tarnished Edition, and they are easy to miss if you gallop straight past them. The update hides three Spectral Steed Regalia sets across the Lands Between, each one giving your spectral steed a completely new look. If you have spent hundreds of hours with the same ghostly horse, this is the low-stakes side quest worth doing. Here is where to find all three and how to equip them.
None of these require boss fights or hidden questlines — just a bit of exploration in areas you have almost certainly already visited.
Tree Sentinel Regalia — Stormveil Castle
The first skin is tucked inside Stormveil Castle in Limgrave, so most players can grab it early. Push through to Godrick’s boss arena, then look to the right of the throne room, where a chest holds the Spectral Steed Regalia: Tree Sentinel. It reskins Torrent to match the gilded, heavily armored mounts that guard the approaches to the Lands Between — easily the most regal of the three.
Carian Silver Regalia — Ranni’s Rise, Liurnia
Next, head to Liurnia of the Lakes and make your way to Ranni’s Rise in the northern part of the region. In the first room downstairs — right next to the site of grace — you will find a chest containing the Spectral Steed Regalia: Carian Silver. If you have followed Ranni’s questline before, you already know the spot; this time there is a cosmetic waiting instead of a plot beat.
Funereal Night Regalia — Altus Plateau (No Chest)
The last one is the trickiest, because there is no chest to spot. Travel to the Altus Plateau and find the Sword Monument a little southeast of the Outer Wall Battleground site of grace. The Spectral Steed Regalia: Funereal Night is marked by a small sword sticking out of the ground rather than a container. If you keep circling the monument hunting for a chest, you will never find it. Instead, dismount and sweep the ground around the birch trees near the monument until the pickup prompt appears.
How to Equip Your Torrent Skins
Once you have at least one Spectral Steed Regalia, swapping looks is simple. Rest at any site of grace, select the option to change your spectral steed appearance, and pick the regalia you want. You can switch between them freely, so there is no penalty for experimenting until you settle on a favorite. It is a small feature, but a fresh look for Torrent is a nice reward for players still combing the map long after the credits — much like chasing down the most overpowered builds in Elden Ring or squeezing more out of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Ride in Style Across the Lands Between
Collecting all three Torrent skins in the Tarnished Edition takes maybe an hour if you fast-travel efficiently, and it is a relaxing break from the game’s usual brutality. Grab the Tree Sentinel set in Stormveil, the Carian Silver at Ranni’s Rise, and the Funereal Night near that Altus sword monument — then pick your look and enjoy a horse that finally matches your fashion. The Lands Between keeps finding new ways to reward the curious, and FromSoftware is clearly not done adding to it, as recent datamined DLC discoveries suggest.
